Student Certification Dives

May Dive warning:  Historically, May is the month water starts to warm and kelp starts to grow.  At the earliest stages we get a Red Tide condition that makes visibility extremely bad.  Always remember to confirm dive reservations the night before the scheduled dive.  

Beach Diving can be challenging and is often seen as difficult.  The truth is that it is a matter of practice, training and community.  If you have talented qualified people to help, then the experience is generally a good one.  At Ocean Gear Scuba Center, we want you to have fun and learn how to beach dive safely.  We won’t promise it will always be easily, in fact there will often be challenges, but we can promise that you will learn how to beach dive, laugh a lot and enjoy the overall experience.

Dive Reservations close at 3pm the day prior to the scheduled dive.  As the water gets ready to warm more people will be making reservations to come dive.  Always  plan to make your reservations early to reduce the risk of not being able to attend.  Once the dive is completed, it will then be necessary for you to rinse and clean the equipment and return it to us before the close of business on your dive day.

You do not have to pass the exam before making your dives; however, both the test and your dives need to be completed within 6 months of each other.
