Master Scuba Diver Course – May 2019 – Classroom #2
May 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water aſter a classroom discussion of subjects. The course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles. Some subject areas are a review and expansion of material from previous courses. Each subject area is a progression in study not a definitive study in the particular diving activity. However, instructors will specify performance objectives for related course diving activities; for example, “during a navigation dive the student will swim a reciprocal course to within 10 feet (3 m) of its origin.”
There will be 4 to 5 classroom sessions. That is determined by the level of comfort with the material among the divers. There are also 8 ocean dives including: a Night Dive, a Deep Dive, a Navigation Dive, a Search and Light Salvage Dive and some Rescue Techniques are covered. Additional dives are used to enhance the diver’s comfort level and can include focus on: buoyancy, air consumption, body positioning as well as any specific skill set the dive would like to explore.
