Founded in 1976, Justa Dive Shop - Ocean Gear, Inc. brings over 30 years of continuous quality SCUBA instruction. After a perfect record of introducing over 194,000 students to SCUBA Diving, we look forward to the opportunity to work with you. Ocean Gear Inc. began teaching the basic principles of Safe SCUBA Diving back in 1976. Founded originally as a school of instruction only, much of our focus still remains in providing all of our clients with instruction that is both safe and fun. Learning to dive is fun, but it is serious fun. You have to be willing to make a commitment of time and some money. SCUBA diving is often seen as an expensive sport for those who wish to "ride the wild side".
In truth, we take great pride in the fact that we operate the largest high school SCUBA youth program in the United States. We have successfully taught clients as young as age 12 to as young at heart as age 75. While you do need to be reasonably healthy, you do not need to be a marathon runner to learn to dive. If you can sit up, breathe and touch your finger to your nose, you can dive. Our job is to help you with the mechanics, the planning, the safety issues and then turn you loose to have the fun. Actually, we have fun doing it, too. Our instructors meet the highest standards of professionalism. In addition to their Instructor certification, most are First Aid/CPR Instructors, Instructor Trainers and Course Directors (the people who train other instructors). We teach a broad range of classes from Beginner to Instructor Trainer. Our certifications are recognized Internationally and never expire.
The most important reason, I believe, you should consider our training methods is that while most SCUBA Instructors love to dive, we love to TEACH. This is what we genuinely excel at. You should always arrange to meet with an instructor before signing up for a class. The most convenient schedule and the lowest tuition will mean nothing if you are not comfortable with the instructor.
